HomeNet Nepal (www.homenetnepal.org)
HomeNet Nepal (HNN) is a consortium of NGOs, INGOs, a
research and training institution, trade union, and
HBWs. Established in 2000 and registered in 2002, HNN
is currently in the process of institutionalization.
HNN began in Kathmandu in 2000 with the promulgation
of the Kathmandu Declaration. HNN has a strong and
committal membership strength of over with 16,992 HBWs,
50 NGOs, 14 cooperatives, 10 institutional values, 15
private sectoral members, and 40 professional members.
The total targeted population is 50,000. The major
objectives and responsibilities of HNN are to provide
‘visibility’ to HBWs, provide then with social
protection and overall welfare, and to better organize
HBWs through networking. Furthermore, plans to develop
and bring HBWs and the National Policy for HBWs are in
motion.
HomeNet Nepal's goal is to eradicate poverty through
promoting sustainability and security
